What an AWESOME field trip to the Troy Historical Museum First we visited a log cabin to learn all about pioneer life. We learned about daily life, jobs that pioneer children would have, and we even made butter! It was delicious! Next we visited the general store! We learned about the different items that could be purchased at the general store, then our focus shifted to TOYS! We learned that toys would often prepare children for chores and jobs they might have around the cabin. We had so much fun playing with some of the pioneer toys and even making our own toy to take home! A fun picnic lunch in the "Town Hall" We had SO MUCH FUN at Poppleton School! We pretended to be pioneer students learning in a single room school house. We read from McGuffy Readers, completed math equations with chalk and tablets, and loved playing along with common consequences- including the Dunce Cap. What fun!
