We have been working hard getting into our daily routines and learning the structure of our busy first grade days. "WIN" (What I Need) time is an hour long literacy block that the first graders look forward to each day. During this time the students work independently on a variety of literacy activities while I conduct assessments, confer individually, or meet with guided reading groups. We are so lucky to have a support team that assists with guided reading groups four days each week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) so all students are provided small group and individualized instruction. Check out these photos of Room 6 first graders working on independent "WIN" time activities! We are off to a great first week of school!! Hopefully your first grader has shared their busy school days with you at home! Check out the photos below of some awesome learning in action! |
