We are just thrilled to welcome Andie Quinn to the Chastain family! Lainy just loves being a big sister and Andie is a very happy baby. I miss my first grade friends but I know they are in great hands with Ms. Bieszk! I am keeping an eye on my email if you need me or want to say hello. I look forward to seeing how the first graders have grown as learners and leaders when I return.

What a special surprise from my first grade friends! Thank you for the Baby Girl Balloon, adorable and delicious onesie cookies, book full of advice from the first graders and extremely generous gift card! Our baby is already so loved! Hi! My name is Amber Bieszk and I just graduated from Eastern Michigan University for Elementary Education! I spent the first half of this school year student teaching in Kindergarten at Country Oaks and I absolutely loved it! I’m originally from Belleville, MI but just recently moved to Fenton with my boyfriend and our dog Ellie who has more energy then a room full of 1st graders! In my free time I enjoy cooking/baking, reading, crafting and traveling! I’m excited for this opportunity to take over for Mrs. Chastain for a bit and greatly look forward to working with you and your children!
Welcome Ms. Bieczk!!
With the start of the new year comes an exciting time for the Chastain Family– Mr. Chastain and I are very excited to welcome our baby girl (due on January 24th)! Lainy just can’t wait to be a big sister! With the arrival of our new addition I will be away from the classroom on maternity leave for a portion of time over the next few months. I am thrilled to welcome Ms. Amber Bieczk into our classroom during my extended absence. Ms. Bieczk has experience working in our Huron Valley School District and is very excited to begin working with our Room 6 first graders at Johnson. She has already met the students, observed our daily routines, and is looking forward to spending more time in the classroom before officially taking over. You will be immediately notified when Ms. Bieczk begins as she will be your main contact in my absence. Thank you again for your patience during this transition and for welcoming/ supporting Ms. Bieczk! Ms. Bieczk can be reached at: [email protected] With a new year comes new learning in Room 6! We are working with informational text during reading instruction, and will be writing directions in the form of How To... books in writing. To kick off these units the first graders explored the books in our informational bins and shopped for good-fit non-fiction books for use during independent practice. We had A LOT of fun reading different "how to" books and following the directions to make our own paper airplanes. |
